An exciting opportunity for Application Support, responsible for providing expert-level support for business applications, with a specific focus on Linux/Unix environments and SQL databases.
This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, scripting automation, and performing database management tasks to ensure application stability and performance.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience;
- At least 2 years of experience in IT service management or support roles in large scale organizations with diverse IT systems;
- Proven experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting;
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing databases;
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for Linux/Unix and SQL issues;
- Strong scripting skills for automating tasks and processes;
- Knowledge of application and database performance monitoring tools;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment;
Desirable Skill(s)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure);
- Exposure to CRM systems, and digital signage/inventory systems.
Responsibilities
- Handle IT Incidents, Requests, and Escalation processes and troubleshoot and resolve system application problems;
- Provide technical expertise in analyzing and providing the best solution on complex technical issues in a timely and efficient;
- Engage with various teams on resolution and maintain effective communication between stakeholders;
- Manage vendor performance through service level management;
- Enhance existing support process to maintain/improve service level and quality;
- Support audit and compliance-related activities.
